The Minnesota Department of Human Services has identified six priorities on the following topics: at-risk adults; at-risk children; reducing disparities; health care; chemical and mental health; and home and community-based services. A Web-based price comparison tool developed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services that allows consumers to check local pharmacy prices for about 400 brand-name, generic and therapeutic alternative medications was honored recently. Minnesota RxPrice Compare received the 2007 Government IT Recognition Award in the Customer Service Applications category at the Annual Minnesota Government Information Technology Symposium. Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise, the part of DHS that provides direct substance abuse treatment services at six locations throughout Minnesota, has been accredited by the Joint Commission, the independent, not-for-profit organization that accredits and certifies nearly 15,000 health care organizations and program in the United States.
